Why Remember99

Our main mission is to help our viewers and customers remember Allah through our products and content. While the Arabic word dhikr is often translated as 'remembrance,' it encompasses much more than that.

The root of the word dhikr in Arabic is comprised of the three letters Dhal, Kaaf, and Raa. It means to mention, recall, talk, praise, and read—all at the same time. Due to the limitations of the English language, we had to choose one of these meanings to convey the concept. However, even as a simplification, our aim is to remind everyone, ourselves included, of Allah.

So, what is dhikr (remembrance), and what are its benefits? In a very brief summary, most acts of worship can be considered dhikr, since they involve verbal expression. It can be as small as saying Astaghfirullah (I seek forgiveness from Allah), or as significant as reading the Qur’an or performing prayers.

As we all know, there are 99 names of Allah, which is the inspiration behind our name. Remember Allah through His names and attributes. Look forward to a series of blogs that will highlight each of these names and attributes, as well as practical ways to engage in dhikr and worship, insha’Allah. Stay tuned for more products that help you remember Allah, and may Allah reward us all.
